Capricorn JV appointed RJ Vincent & Co to undertake the construction of the Marmion Avenue extension in mid 2007. Work commenced in late 2007 and the road is due for opening in October 2008. 

The Marmion Avenue extension has involved major bulk earthworks of nearly 1 million m3 and 12Km of road construction to link two of RJ Vincent's other major projects at Brighton and Yanchep. 

RJ Vincent has overcome difficult ground conditions with extremely hard rock being encountered under the coastal dunes. These conditions have been efficiently managed by the experienced personnel and RJ Vincent's expert utilization of its extensive array of earthworking machines which are ideal for this type of work. For example it was originally anticipated that blasting of hard rock would be required, but with the use of our D11 dozers we were able to save our client the expensive option of blasting.

Strict environmental conditions were also effectively managed by protecting sensitive flora and providing fauna crossings for the local wildlife. 

The local communities of Perth's northern coastal corridor are eagerly awaiting the opening of this major link road which will provide further opportunities for coastal living in years to come.
